ways to deal with a bad day
Find a relaxing activity. You can fight bad day by engaging in something you find relaxing, such as prayer, meditation, reading, or going for a walk.- Talk it out. Seek out a friend and vent a little. You likely don’t even need advice, but rather a sounding board to listen while you let out all the negative feelings that have built up over the course of the day.
- Count your blessings. You will likely discover that you have more to be thankful for than worried about. Remember the times when you were gravely ill and then recovered; when you felt abandoned and then became reunited with family and friends and so on
- Take a nap. If you’ve got the time, maybe a little catnap will improve your day. It could be like pressing the reset button on your day so you can start again when you wake up from your nap.
- Treat yourself. Take yourself out for ice cream, chocolate, or a favorite treat of your choice. A sugary snack will help improve your mood and make you more upbeat. But be careful not to overdo it!
- Do something for someone else. I know this has been pointed out by many people numerous times, but it is so true. There’s no better way to get your mind off your troubles than to think of someone else or do something for them.
