falling in love with photography

I have been telling wiffy about my plans of buying an SLR camera. Now, I can find myself falling in love with photography making wiffy jealous of it. Joke only! The truth is, she too likes photography. She even has good shots than I do. But, we only have a digital camera with a limited capacity especially on getting the details. We don’t know how to use it, in getting the details of our subject. That is the reason we search the web for helpful tools.

In the midst of our search we found the book called Numismatic Photography by Mark Goodman that is published by Zyrus Press. It’s not the type of book that we are looking for, but its worth to share especially to the member of the coin collectors club. Here is the reason.

As the use of the Internet and electronic visual media becomes more of a vital part of the coin industry, photographing coins, either raw or slabbed, has become an increasing concern with collectors and dealers. These concerns are addressed after reading the book. This book teaches the reader in an easy-to-read and visually rich guidebook format on how to image quality photos of coins using digital camera. Whether first timer or experienced photographers Goodman addresses typical problems faced by the photographer, recommends ways of improvements and offers specific tips and techniques for raw and slabbed coins and gold coins.

Roger Burdette, Author of the Renaissance of American Coinage series said that it is an impressive addition to the coin collector’s arsenal of knowledge. He then recommends Numismatic Photography to anyone interested in making better coin photos, or in learning how these images are made.

Wow, I think this book is really something very useful. The thing is, it is not what I am looking for. On the other side, I can also make use of the technique while photographing other items instead me doing or getting photograph coins. I like getting details of small items, but unable because I don’t know what kind of lighting to use and I am just using a digital camera. But, the item in the book is purely coins using other items is difficult. I think I’ll just have to look for other tips so as not to make my life complicated.
