Yesterday, heavy rains flooded some parts of the downtown area. We are still lucky because we don’t experience storms here that devastate areas in Luzon. I pray for their families and hope they can get back their life.
Since heavy rains poured yesterday, I grabbed the opportunity to soak myself with rain waters. It’s been a while since I last took a bath under the rain. It feels good as I reminisce my childhood where my parents let me play with my friends every time it rains. Sadly wiffy doesn’t have this experience.
Speaking of my childhood, I also remember my parent’s house that is miles away from here. Back then, I really hate it when it rains especially sleeping hours. Of course, I like it when it’s still early because I can play with my friends. Just that whenever it rains, water leaks into the basement where I consider my room. Shortage of rooms pushed my father to transform the basement into a bedroom.
This is my spot and it is my responsibility to keep it clean. The leaks oftentimes brought dirt and even invite insects in. We don’t have any basement waterproofing at that time. So, I am forced to clean it and doing some innovations to keep the water from flowing. Sometimes doing it will take me the whole night taking away my good night sleep.
I am not pretty sure if my father was able to install a basement water proofing system in that spot. I have been away for about seven years. And every time I visit, I choose to be in a hotel. I don’t want to sleep in a basement again. Hahaha!
