Exploring Laiya Coco Grove

Tired of the usual trip to the beach? Drive to Laiya Coco Grove, Batangas, Philippines where families have fun, kid’s fantasies are fulfilled and mom and dad get the deserved rest and relaxation.

Its main attraction is the row of tree houses that line the shores of Sigayan Bay.  A giant tree trunk greets you as you enter, and the bamboo slatted floors creak with rustic charm as you make yourself at home. Each tree house has air conditioning with showers and toilets to boot. With its height come great views of the sea and nearby mountains, although the windows are sealed, just to keep out water and creepy crawlies. The kids will remember the experience for years. Adults, who may not appreciate the swaying of their vacation home in strong winds, will overlook the slight discomfort when they hear the children brag about how much fun it was to live like Tarzan. For the less adventurous, there are poolside cottages, big enough for the family of four, built soundly on the ground.

Laiya Coco Grove is a great opportunity to get kids away from television since there is none in the resort, and expose them to nature and more physical activity. The staff can arrange for a special snorkelling trip to nearby reefs. (Coco Grove has two beaches, each just walking distance away from the other). Or why not give the children their first taste of sailing? Have a friendly family kayak race. Back on land, the resort has a nature park, complete with hanging bridge, nature trail, and a flying fox. Or you can get them jumping on the giant trampoline.

After all that fun, enjoy dinner at the resort’s Pavillon, which was built to accommodate the coconuts in the area so that tree trunks are spread. There’s also a complex of bamboo poles that connect the coconut trees just outside the dining area referred as Laiya skyway where Coco Grove’s own coconut wine is made.
Laiya Coco Grove is sure to bring fun and adventure for the kids and the kids at heart.
