Techie Made it Easy

It is a bit confusing when you are shopping with too many electronic gadgets in front of you especially when you are not-too-techie and a budget conscious person. Here are some useful guides if you are shopping for a new video camera.

  • High Definition (HD) Having a camcorder that can record HD footage will assure your precious memories won’t age soon thus it will last longer. Hook it up to a television set and you can watch your home movies with amazing detail and clarity.
  • Optical Zoom will give you an idea of how powerful the camera’s zoom. A standard 15x optical zoom will magnify a particular object to 15 times its normal size from the widest lens angle setting. A bigger zoom is best for recording footage from great distances.
  • Video effects are the most fun thing about today’s video camera. By far, the most popular effect is the Sepia and monochrome filters that give videos the nostalgic look. Some even have old movie mode which makes videos look like a shot with an old 8mm film camera.
  • Surround Sound stereo audio wowed us back in the 80s but it won’t cut it anymore in the millennium. Some camcorders record audio in five separate channels to give your videos true surround sound. So, that when you hook it up to your in-wall home theater speakers you can hear good sounds and you will never have to miss a peep.
