Wimbledon’s fashion style!

Wimbledon tournament is in full swing, both on and off its grassy courts, where a lot of the media attention is directed away from the game as such and towards more fashionable concerns – like the star players’ choice of attire.

For her first match, Sharapova wore a pair of shorts (worn low on the hip with a wide-tailored waistband, pin stripe-effect and gold-stitched buttons) and a sleeveless top with a tuxedo-style front. On top of her playing gear she wore the upper half of an equally fashionable tailored, tuxedo-inspired warm-up suit – namely, a single-breasted jacket with gold stitching on the collar lapel and front edge, a more classic response to Serena Williams’ trench coat. Her outfit may have been inspired by a man’s suit, but she wore it with a lot of style and grace, and accessorized it with a pair of $5,000 Tiffany’s diamond and platinum earrings. Wow!

Early Dinner

You don’t burn calories while sitting and enjoying that scrumptious meal. Set dinner time a little earlier so that you get to do other effective calorie burning activities before turning in. Reading books, watching TV, or any other activity done awake definitely burns more calories than sleeping. An intimate activity with your hubby like a nighttime stroll not only makes for excellent bonding; it also means more time for digestion –and calorie burning.

Discover 2 Exotic Fruits!

The first time I heard of passion fruit it was in a books and office supply store, when I was browsing the shelves for Thermal labels for my dad’s office. But although we may have heard of this delicious fruit, how many of us tried it first hand? Well, I don’t think so!

Do you heard of star fruit? Well, for for sure you don’t because it is one of the native fruits here in the Philippines. In our dialect it is called “balingbing”. It comes from Southeast Asia, its rich in vitamin C and has a pleasant, citrusy flavor. There’s no need to peel or seed it, it can simply be eaten whole. A word of caution, though if you have problems with your kidneys, stay away from it, as it contains kidney stone-forming oxalic acid. Finally, hands up those of you who eat papaya on a regular basis. Christopher Columbus first called this pair shaped wonder the “fruit of the angels” – and no wonder he was so impressed with its soft, buttery flesh and peppery, edible seeds. One papaya fruit contains about 118 calories, plenty of vitamin C and an enzyme that helps protein digestion and prevents bloating. Add papaya to your daily diet, and enjoy its rich, sweet musky taste with a dash of lemon juice.
