NBA Conspiracies: Reviving the Lakers vs. Celtics era
I’d rather think of such events as “radical changes”, except for the “Laker-Celtic era” being revived today. The first two, the trades that is, only meant that some changes have to be made, whether its Garnett being unsatisfied by the stagnant progress of Minnesota or Pau’s expiration of his contract (don’t know this one so please correct me) that initiated the trade, it only pertains to the realistic expectations of the players and the fans that nothing lasts forever in this business; Laker fans actually can still feel relieved now that Kobe is still in LA.
With regards to the Laker-Celtic era revival, I don’t think it would come to fruition any time soon; we must remember that these two teams are just starting to boom while the other teams, particularly the Spurs and the Pistons, have already made their statements by proving that they are the team to beat…whether one is better than the other is still a debatable topic. However, it would be nice for them–the Celtics and the Lakers–to square off to see which “booming team” is a better contender for the championship…honestly, I pick the Lakers, not only because I am a fan of them, but also because their players have potential and are talented. The Celtics are also good, but can still be outsmarted once in a while–something that is not a characteristic of a true championship contender team (the best example is just a few months ago, when they faced the Pistons; the Celtics were leading by 1, until somebody was stupid enough to foul that smarta** Chauncey…and to say that he is one of the best free throw shooters out there is just icing in the cake; the end result? Celtics lost by 1, with only a few seconds remaining. What a heart breaker)
Oh well, we’ll see how this progresses in the future; in the meantime…GO LAKERS!!!
